END OF A SCHOOL - OUR WILD CHILDREN

9.12.14

We feel so grateful we found this amazing jungle school for our kids. We wanted them to learn “a little” Spanish but we are walking away with so much more. Most importantly the teachers Carla, Karla and Olga were passionate, kind and so understanding human beings. What a challenge for them teaching kids from around the globe, some not even knowing Spanish or English. Even tough we were here for a short time, these teachers made a big difference in our kids’ life. Before Costa Rica they were not always hip on school but now they would run there half an hour early.
The perfect mix of Montessori, Waldorf and forest school created a learning temple for our kids. They love school now. I want them to love school forever.
They made such deep human and nature connections. They saw a coral snake outside their school, they caught a scorpion, tarantula and were taught how to protect themselves. They took care of their chickens everyday. They ate organic, homemade lunches. They embraced art and music. They connected with ancestors learning indigenous songs. They jumped in the cold pools of water in the Machuga river. They collected bags and bags of rocks and crystals. They learnt empathy for the toucans when they flew into their classrooms. They took care of their friends when a language barrier was a stress.
They will hopefully never forget this year. I know i won’t. I will always see the difference this year has made in them.
