WHO WE ARE:

We are Alicja, Matt, Leo and Zosia and we are a family of four that is leaving the rat race for sunny Costa Rica. Here at UP FOR TRAVEL we would like to share our adventures, misfortunes, happy moments, tips on travelling, tips on homeschooling or unschooling and everything in between. We all have different passions and interests but in all its a blog about living simply, appreciating each other and the beautiful world around us.


ALICJA:
I was born in Poland during good all times when the shelves where empty and travelling was just a dream. I have two sisters one in Poland and one in Stockholm. I have wonderful parents that in some way help my dream of travel come true. I share my gypsy blood with my dad who speaks several languages and seen a place or two in his life. Even tough I come from no money I've seen places too expensive for riches to see. Drive, passion and a little crazy lent me to see the world and that's where the bug for travel started.
I spent months in different parts of France, Germany and England. Spent one summer trekking throughout Nepal and India. Worked as a waitress at a beach bar in Greece and finally went to college in USA where I met my husband Matt. We met in a photo darkroom and we always joke that we fell in love with each other without knowing how we actually look. We started a family in Rochester NY and the rest is history.

MATTHEW:

LEO:

is 6 years old and he is going to Costa Rica to see lizard running on water. He has been named the Poet and the Artist of our neighborhood since he loves reading and has no interest in group sports which is very uncommon around here. He is a super kind, loving kid who always remembers to include his younger sister in all his games and play dates.
His imagination runs so wild that most times we cannot tell whats the truth and whats not. He takes that from his mother. From his father he takes the picky eater habits we are working on currently. He says that in Costa Rica he will become a true Fruitatarian.
He loves to dance and walk around without a t shirt. Loves his long hair and currently very much into Pokemon and Lego's. He wants to let everyone know that he is also super awesome, super strong and super brave :)

ZOFIA:

is almost 5 years old. In her dreams she will soon be hugging a sloth in Costa Rica. Shy around people her true spirit comes out when she is around animals. She takes care of them like its her job. She loves to eat and will never order a kid meal at the restaurant, her favorite cuisine is Mediterranean with lots of feta on top. We will have to take this girl to Greece one day. She takes dislike for hugs from her mother and a great sense of humor from her dad.
